The Homesteader III House Plan
This farmhouse style 4 bedroom, 2 bath 3211 sq. ft. design features an open living and kitchen area, as well as a covered porch on both the front and the back of the home. The mud room off the back porch is perfect for cleaning up after a hard day outside and the kitchen is well equipped for processing and preserving the harvest.
The large island has shelving on the dining room side for extra canning storage, and the deep, hidden pantry has even more room for long-term food storage. With room for 3 freezers and the option for a window box, the deep pantry is also a great option for a cold room/faux root cellar.
With an extra entry into the front room, it can serve as an office, music room, library, school room, or just a place to have guests without opening the rest of your home. Room for an additional entrance into the office/workroom, the Homesteader III house plan is perfect for all your homesteading activities.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the plans comply with building codes?
The plans are developed according to generally accepted building practices and in general compliance with residential building codes but are not warranted or guaranteed to meet any particular set of codes and standards.
Since the plans can be purchased and used to build a home in many different jurisdictions having many different soil types and climates, specific framing member sizing, energy efficiency measures etc are left to a local building professional and engineer.
Jurisdictions that will require an engineer’s stamp for a foundation or roof framing design, for example, will require that engineer to be licensed in that jurisdiction.
May I build more than one house with the plans I purchased?
The license for plans purchased from HomesteadHousePlans.com allows the purchaser to build one home from each plan set purchased. The plans may not be transferred or sold to a third party and may not be used to construct a second home either by the original purchaser of a subsequent purchaser.
