House Description

This farmhouse style plan starts as a feature-packed 1 bedroom, 1 bath 1,137 sq. ft. “starter” cottage and finishes out as a 2,928 sq. ft. 4 bedroom, 3 bath home for your whole family. The “starter” cottage includes an open living and kitchen area, a full-sized pantry, room for laundry and freezer and a deep livable covered porch on both the front and back of the cottage. The cottage plan also includes a bonus attic space with room for storage and mechanical equipment.

The starter cottage serves as the anchor for two distinct future bedroom and garage additions that can be built as the needs of your family grow. The bedroom wing addition leads to a 3 bedroom, 2 bath 2,223 sq. ft. design featuring a larger open living and kitchen area and an even larger covered porch on the back of the home. The dedicated laundry space accommodates two freezers and the kitchen is well-equipped for processing and preserving the harvest with the addition of a full island.

The two-car garage addition adds a fourth bedroom and full bath perfect for a second master or elderly parent. The “granny flat” option includes a handicap-accessible ensuite bath and galley kitchen. The new mud room off the back porch is perfect for cleaning up after a hard day outside and the new entrance from the garage includes storage cabinets and shelves. The garage itself includes space for storage or a compact workshop.

With the ability to start small and grow with your family, this plan allows you to match your housing expenditure with your needs. If growing your family along with your homestead is in your future, this is the perfect for you.
