Important Information – License Agreement & Disclaimers

HomesteadHousePlans.com is a DBA of Inspired Engineering, LLC. All house plans are copyrighted by Inspired Engineering, LLC and M. Lee Moore, P.E. (collectively “we,” “us,” or “Homestead House Plans”).

By purchasing and checking the agreement box below, you (“Purchaser”) accept this limited license and all terms stated here. Payment of the one-time fee grants you the specific rights described for the product(s) you select—no more, no less.

For CAD (DWG) Files – Unlimited Build License

  • You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to construct an unlimited number of homes using the purchased plans.
  • This license is granted only to the original purchaser named at checkout. It may not be sold, transferred, assigned, sub-licensed, or shared with any third party.
  • You may reproduce, print, modify, or adapt the CAD files solely for your own construction purposes (including to meet local codes or personal preferences).
  • If your order includes any standard options (e.g., slab foundation, crawl space, 2×4/2×6 wall conversion, unfinished basement, reverse plan), only those specific options are included in the delivered CAD files. You do not receive the base plan plus options, or combinations thereof. Additional files or variants require a separate purchase and fee.
  • You must keep our copyright notice intact on all copies and derivatives. Removing or altering it violates the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and may result in legal action.
  • All rights remain with Inspired Engineering, LLC. Payment does not transfer ownership, title, or copyright—only the limited license described.

For PDF or Other Non-CAD Products (if applicable to your offerings)

  • Standard PDF sets allow construction of one home only. Additional builds require a separate reuse license fee.
  • You may make copies/prints as needed for that single build and may modify the plans for your use, but all copies must retain our copyright notice.

Key Disclaimers & Your Responsibilities

  • Building Codes & Compliance: Our plans are designed to align with general standards (e.g., International Residential Code at time of creation), but we make no warranty of compliance with any local, state, or national codes, ordinances, zoning, climate, soil, wind/snow loads, or site conditions. You are solely responsible for verifying and ensuring full compliance, including any required modifications.
  • Professional Review & Stamping: Stock plans do not include a professional seal/stamp from an architect or engineer. Many jurisdictions require review and stamping by a licensed professional in your state/location. You must arrange this if needed—we assume no responsibility for obtaining or providing it.
  • No MEP Details: Heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical layouts, and similar systems are not included. Consult local contractors for designs suited to your climate and codes. Follow all manufacturer instructions for materials, appliances, and systems.
  • Modifications: Any changes you (or your CAD user/builder) make are your responsibility. We are not liable for errors, omissions, or consequences from modifications, site conditions, construction, or use of the plans.
  • Compatibility: CAD files are created in formats compatible with common software (e.g., AutoCAD). We do not guarantee perfect compatibility with every program or version.
  • No Returns/Refunds: Due to the digital/copyrighted nature of the files, all sales are final. No returns, exchanges, refunds, or cancellations after delivery.
  • Liability Limitation: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Inspired Engineering, LLC, M. Lee Moore, P.E., and affiliates disclaim all warranties (express or implied), including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for any damages, losses, costs, or claims arising from the plans or their use.
  • Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of that state.
  • Communication: We prefer email for all inquiries. We may contact you by phone if needed, but routine support is via email.

By checking the box and completing checkout, you confirm you have read this in full, understand it, and agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and anyone using the plans (e.g., your builder or CAD professional).

Thank you for choosing Homestead House Plans—we’re here to help make your home vision a reality.
